Happy July!

Me in bus mirror

I have started a July photography challenge and you’ll hear more about that later this week… Before I start posting those pictures though I wanted to share my most recent pictures and document what I’ve been learning.

I had been wanting to get Photoshop for awhile and then a friend told me about a free photo-editing software similar to Photoshop called Paint.Net. I have so enjoyed doing graphic design type work in it! Playing around with logo design and adding text to my pictures. Stay tuned for a new design and new logo for Down Home Me!

Speaking of web design, I recently had the privilege to redesign The Full Quiver Band’s website. I learned a ton through the process including fine tuning my web design skills and learning how to communicate.

I am completely obsessed with black & white pictures right now! I almost feel guilty every time I edit a picture B&W…

My dad and little brothers were working under the house and then my dad asked me to take a picture of them. Yeah, it’s a little grainy ’cause I had to crop it a ton, but I just LOVE their faces. Love you boys!

Here’s Bunni…

He was sold at the local auction.

Dear sis at auction

These little kids were playing all around the auction and you could tell they were used to and comfortable with the crazy busy atmosphere of the auction. I thought it was so cute.

I recently saw a picture on Instagram of a WWII veteran and I just loved how the photographer captured WHO that man was in one simple picture. It told such a story. My goal as a photographer is to create pictures like that.

About Abigail

I love the word “down home”…

Of, relating to, or reminiscent of a simple, wholesome, unpretentious lifestyle, especially that associated with the rural southern United States.

That’s me in a nutshell.

I live way out in the country in Texas and enjoy my busy life living in a large family. I love photography, piano, sewing, and, most of all, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. If you died tonight would you go to Heaven of Hell? www.downhome.me/salvation
